Unfortunately we fell well short of the anticipated entries needed ahead of the Go/No-Go decision date, so the SCCA Devil in the Dark 12-Hour event presented by Ciocca Corvette has been postponed until 2024.
We recognize that the 2023 event was a late addition to the season schedule and calendar, resulting in an uphill struggle for both organizers and teams, and the shortfall on entries needed.
The SCCA and NJMP will work together to announce a 2024 date as soon as practical. We are focusing on options for a late season (October 2024) or early season (April 2024) event, and welcome your input.
While disappointing, the silver lining is that the event will now be run on a newly repaved-for-2024 Thunderbolt circuit, with the option of using either the classic configuration or one of the two new configurations offered.
We’d ask for your help in spreading the word about what the event offers. The 12-Hour FAQ covers the event’s history, details about the event, and the inclusive nature that allows us to bring together cars and competitors across sanctioning bodies.
It will be important that interested teams sign up early in the process once the 2024 event is announced and available for entries. Once again we will have a clearly communicated Go/No-Go decision date, and intent to run deposits for a 2024 event will NOT be charged until the “Go” decision is made. Therefore there is no risk to signing up early, and doing so lets the event organizers know that the interest and demand for the event is there. The event planning team hopes to see you in 2024!
