MILLVILLE, NJ (February 14, 2025) – New Jersey Motorsports Park is proud to welcome a new manager to its premier outdoor go-karting facility, Tempest Raceway. Dakota Reed has impressed the NJMP team with his management experience working at Autobahn Indoor Raceway and K1 Speed. At NJMP, Reed will manage Tempest Raceway operations and recruit professional karting series.
Originally from Columbia, MD, Reed has been managing go-kart tracks since 2016. However, his passion for motorsports stemmed from spending time with his uncle who restored old Trans Am cars. After experiencing the joy of racing later in life, he began working at Autobahn Indoor Speedway as a Pit Crew member and quickly climbed the ladder to General Manager. The past nine years, Reed has managed locations in Northern Virginia, the final year under K1 Speed.
Right away NJMP was impressed by Reed’s initiative. His desire to build upon the sport has led him to work on new concepts at his previous position, such as the American E-Kart Championship which he oversaw and worked with the World Karting Association to perfect. Thus, becoming a WKA approved Race Director.
Most importantly, Reed’s history of emphasizing safety and the customer experience aligns with NJMP’s direction for Tempest Raceway activities.
“I have a deep passion for opening the door to this incredible sport for as many people as possible,” says Dakota Reed, NJMP’s new go-karting manager, “helping individuals improve their skillset, and learning more about how to do it better each and every day.”
During NJMP’s March – November season, Reed will oversee go-karting operations including its popular Arrive-and-Drive sessions, 10-race Rental Kart League Championships, and two-hour Endurance Races. Moreover, he will recruit and manage professional go-karting events, such as Northeast Karting Challenge, Endurance Karting, and more.
