MILLVILLE, NJ (October 7, 2025) – It is now public knowledge that the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, fondly known as Pitt Race, is waving the checkered flag for the last time at the end of the 2025 season.
In early October, Pitt Race announced that, after 23 years, this is its final season as it will be permanently closing its gates at the end of 2025. The announcement titled “The Final Season of Pitt Race” contained a short message from the owners, Jim and Kathy Stout, declaring that they are “stepping away from ownership of the facility.” They go on to thank their customers, vendors, sponsors, and supporters.
“The Final Season of Pitt Race
“When the checkered flag is thrown, the green flag is waved for the next race. Pitt Race has been our passion. We strived to make Pitt Race a premier motorsports destination. With much thought, Jim and I decided to step away from ownership of the facility. We thank our loyal customers, our dedicated vendors and sponsors, the unwavering supporters, and mostly our dedicated and passionate employees.
“It’s been a fun journey and ride.”
Jim and Kathy Stout, current owners of Pitt Race International
With Pitt Race located only six hours away from New Jersey Motorsports Park, our team knows how difficult this decision must have been for the team at Pitt Race. The motorsports industry, while wildly rewarding, is a beast on the business side. Ultimately, it is NJMP’s understanding that the Pitt Race location holds value in the industrial market and ownership had to make a business decision that was best for its team.
At the end of the day, when that final checkered flag is waved, we want to thank Pitt Race for the positive impact it has made on its track partners, guests, and the motorsports community here on the northeast. The track may go, but the passion for racing it has created for so many will carry on.
