AHRMA, which traces its roots to the late 1970’s, offers vintage national and regional road racing, motocross, dirt track, observed trials and cross-country competition. The vintage machines featured in the association’s events span a full 50 years, from the 1920s to the early 90s. AHRMA Road Racing also features “modern” alternative classes for single, twin, and three-cylinder machines.
The 4th Annual “Varsity Challenge” by eMotoRacing will take place during the annual AHRMA Festival on NJMP’s Thunderbolt race course. Six major university teams from the USA and Canada are set to compete in high speed electric motorcycle racing competition. Woodcraft Technologies, a major American purveyor of road racing gear, has once again offered a $1,000 scholarship to the highest placing collegiate team. Racers piloting these ground-breaking machines include an Isle of Man TT veteran, a Canadian Superbike pro, former AMA pros, and AHRMA veterans. Friday, July 14, will be a full practice day, with the first of two rounds of racing on Saturday afternoon. The second round will take place on Sunday, July 16.
In addition to on-track action, fans can enjoy all the family-friendly festival elements during this three-day event including Burgers, Brew and Que’, offering a traditional summertime BBQ featuring great food, cold beer, tailgate games and music, and a free Bike Night at the Finish Line Pub on Friday, July 14, offering free parade laps on Thunderbolt Raceway for show participants.
