New Jersey Motorsports Park Signs Andy Lally as Track Professional

MILLVILLE, N.J. (Jan. 17, 2019) – New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) announced Rolex Grand Am Champion and 5 time class winner of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, Andy Lally, as their new track professional for the Drivers Club.

As the track professional, Lally will attend 10 member track days, provide professional coaching, instruction and support for the Drivers Club Members this upcoming season. The track day formats with Lally will include track walks, open track days, skid pad car clinics and other special activities.

“We are thrilled to have established this new relationship with Andy. With his experience and skills, the Club will be able to broaden the instruction we can provide to our members,” said NJMP Chief Operating Officer, Brad Scott.

Lally is a 5 time Daytona 24 winner and is currently the winningest active driver at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. He sits third on the all-time win list with victories in 2001, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016. Tied with Peter Gregg and one behind Hurley Haywood.

Other notable accomplishments of Lally:

  • 3 time IMSA class Champion.
  • 2 time NAEC class Champion.
  • 4 time winner of the 6 Hours of The Glen 2004, 2007, 2010, 2017.
  • Winningest all time IMSA driver at both Lime Rock and Watkins Glen.
  • 2014 12 Hours of Sebring winner
  • 2010 Petit Le Mans winner
  • 2013 Inaugural IMSA Brickyard winner at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • 2006 class podium at 24 Hours of Le Mans.
  • 2008 inaugural class winner at New Jersey Motorsports Park
  • 2009 inaugural pole sitter at NJMP for the ARCA Remax Series.

Track officials have announced the 2019 Drivers Club Schedule which includes over 40+ track days on both the Thunderbolt and Lightning Raceway.  In addition to this new partnership with Andy Lally, the Drivers Club will expand on their track day format to include, the classic four :25 minute run groups, hour long run groups, and an eight hour open track format.  Also new in 2019 will be select track days to allow a 9 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. registration format which allows three hours of track time in a condensed day.
