New Jersey Motorsports Park Goes Solar
MILLVILLE, N.J. (September 19, 2019) – New Jersey Motorsports Park is taking the green initiative and will be among the first motorsports entertainment complexes in the nation to go solar. The solar installation will provide 842 kilowatts of energy, enough to support the majority of the Park’s energy needs, dramatically decreasing NJMP’s energy costs and CO2 footprint. The clean energy generated by the installation will prevent the emission of an estimated 705 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year and is the equivalent of planting 830 acres of forest.
“This is an exciting development for New Jersey Motorsports Park,” said NJMP COO Brad Scott. “This is our first step in a commitment to becoming a more environmentally friendly facility.”
SolarKal – a solar advisory and brokerage firm – is supporting the project, which is scheduled to break ground later this year. NJMP management knew that their high demand for energy, soaring energy prices, and ample open land made them an ideal candidate for alternative energy. SolarKal’s CEO Yaniv Kalish shared that “After years of considering solar energy, I am happy SolarKal had the opportunity to assist New Jersey Motorsports Park navigate that solar market and reduce their installation cost through our proprietary and rigorous process. With the cost of solar coming down, the future will be powered by solar and we hope to see more New Jersey businesses follow their lead. “
SolarKal ran a thorough feasibility and assessments process of the property, along with electricity usage to recommend a strategy and financing options. Through the company’s proprietary process of matching prequalified solar contractors, SolarKal selected Infiniti Energy Services as the solar installer for this project.
“By being able to support so much of the park’s energy needs, we’re excited to see firsthand the value of solar,” added Lee Brahin, NJMP managing partner. “We’re looking forward to adding additional green initiatives into our daily operations.”
