Millville, N.J. (July 5, 2008) – With a waving of the checkered flag, the New Jersey Motorsports Park zoomed into action today.

Hitting the pavement were all types of cars, from those you might see on the road everyday, to the more exotic like a Grand–Am Daytona prototype; and some classics like a 1956 "Lotus 2".

"As you build speed around here it gets trickier and trickier, no doubt about it. There's the Light Bulb Turn and turn 6 are going to be the 2 that really separate the men from the boys when they start running hard," says member Bill Garvey.

But you don't have to be a professional driver to use the track.

Anyone that signs up to become a member can go through training.

"As they grow through that and as they demonstrate to our instructors their skill sets, then they can be moved up into the next class, and the next class, eventually to full-blown passing class," says Donald Fauerbach, the founder of the more than 150-member Green Flag Committee, which is made up of civic leaders.

"How does it feel?" asks Fauerbach, "It's exhilarating for our community, we as a community, we are excited about this."

And next weekend, the park is open for the public to enjoy.
